MQL4

The MetaTrader4 system is based around MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4) to allow for programmable trading strategies. As well as custom indicators, MQL4 allows you to programme Expert Advisors which enable the process of automated trading on your own trading strategies.

There are four different features to the MQL4:
Expert Advisors - a mechanical trade system which can both provide trading signals for user confirmation or automatic execution of orders.
Custom Indicators - this allows for the creation of technical indicators in addition to those already built into the platform.
Scripts - programs designed for single execution of some actions. Scripts are not run based on data and are not linked to indicators. Libraries - the location for frequently used data or uploaded EAs or indicators.

Expert Advisors

Automatic Expert Advisors are available from a number of sources. There are companies and individuals who sell and provide pre-programmed EAs. You can also program the EA manually using the MetaQuotes Language Editor, accessible through the platform. Go Markets supports the use of all Expert Advisor systems. Please note that when using multiple trading styles on the same instrument, including a combination of one or more EA or an EA and manual trading, the trading styles can interfere with each other. For example, if you place an EA on a EURUSD chart and then take manual trades on this pair, the EA will potentially close out these positions at a loss.
